Course Objective

Competences covered according to the General Educational Framework
Dentistry 2008: II f, h, i (5), IV f (4)
The student
- Is able to perform experiments and collect data.
- Is able to present on experimentally obtained data regarding a
scientific project.
- Is able to translate experimental data into a concise format
suitable for publication in the international scientific literature.

Course Content

Based upon the approved research protocol (year 1) the second year will
be spent to select experimental subjects, decide on experimental
methods, perform experiments and collect data. At the end of this period
a concept regarding the presentation of the results needs to be made.

Learning assessment
The student needs to pass all components undermentioned
• preliminary report

• Good; Pass; or Fail


The recommended literature is dependent on the research project. The
requirements for the final manuscript (instructions for authors) can be
found in general on the website of the selected journal.

Additional Information

• Prerequisite: Presence of an approved research protocol
• All communication about the research track, including forms,
deadlines and course manuals will be through the digital learning
environment "Canvas".
