The student
• knows, understands, summarizes, analyses, and evaluates the
neurologic aspects of the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of oral
movement disorders and of problems that are associated with orofacial
pain.
• knows, understands, summarizes, analyses, and evaluates the role
of the anesthesiologist in the diagnosis and treatment of orofacial
pain.

Course Content

During this externship, the students will get acquainted with the
diagnostic and management procedures of a hospital department for
neurologic problems (with a focus on oral movement disorders and on
conditions that are associated with orofacial pain; Nederlandse
Vereniging van Hoofdpijnpatiënten, 2013) and with those of a clinic for
anesthesiology (with a focus on conditions that are associated with
orofacial pain; Nederlandse Vereniging van Hoofdpijnpatiënten, 2013).
This externship will be realized at the Slotervaart General Hospital
(SLZ) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and the DC Clinics in
Amsterdam/Almere, The Netherlands, for 14 resp. 7 hours.
