Course Objective

The student is able to:

- analyse contemporary philosophical texts
- position the texts in a historical and contemporary philosophical
context
- assess the strength of the philosophical position defended by an
author
- defend her own position on the topics discussed
- express herself in presentations, discussion, and written assignments

Course Content

We read contemporary texts on the foundations of epistemology and
ethics.

Teaching Methods

Seminar

Students read the literature before every session and prepare questions
and commentaries.

Method of Assessment

The final grade will be determined on the basis of

- presentations
- participation in the discussion
- written assignments

A precise description of the assignments together with the relative
weight of the various parts will be posted in the course description on
canvas.
