Course ObjectiveProviding a clear overview on the principles and techniques that can be
used for the qualitative and quantitative determination of protein-type
Course ContentThe qualitative and quantitative determination of proteins frequently is
performed by a combination of chromatographic /electrophoretic and mass
spectrometric techniques. The principles of these techniques will be
discussed as well as their applications. Special attention will be given
to sample treatment procedures and affinity-based separation techniques.
With respect to the identification of unknown biological macromolecules,
the power of hyphenated techniques in combination with the various modes
of mass spectrometry will be highlighted.
