International Business Administration

2025-2026

Are you curious about other cultures? Looking to create a platform for your future international business career? Ready to acquire competences to successfully operate in a globalized world?

By studying International Business Administration you’ll combine a comprehensive study of all the essential business disciplines in a genuinely international context with a strong focus on people in a cross-cultural environment. Not only the businesses you’ll study are international, but also the faculty staff and your fellow students are from a wide variety of (cultural) backgrounds.

The programme is multi-disciplinary, which means you’ll study everything from management and organization to cross-cultural marketing, and from information technology to international strategy. In addition to business knowledge, the IBA programme will enable you to learn and practice competences required to work in a globalized world.

The first two years of the bachelor’s programme revolve around fundamental disciplines relevant for any internationally operating business professional, including Global Sustainability, Strategy, Organization, HRM, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management and Technology. Moreover, the academic core in the first two years provides a thorough introduction into Business Mathematics, Business Research Methods, and Academic Skills. Additionally, in year two you can choose electives to deepen your knowledge in areas of your interest, such as sustainability, entrepreneurship, and data analytics and decision-making. In the third year, you will gain international experience by studying the first semester abroad. This exchange to another university is mandatory. Back in Amsterdam, in the second semester of year three you will specialize yourself in a discipline of your choice. This last part of your studies also includes completing a BSc Thesis on an international topic.
