2018-2019
This course is offered in Dutch. Some of the descriptions may therefore only be available in Dutch.

Course Objective

The clinical internship neuropsychology is used to familiarise yourself
with the work of a neuropsychologist within a clinical setting (e.g.
hospital, rehabilitation center, nursing home or psychiatric
institution). The intern learns to perform the neuropsychodiagnostic
process by him/herself, and if possible, is involved in treatment of
patients.

Course Content

Practice of clinical skills

Teaching Methods

Practical implementation of knowledge. The internship lasts at least 672
hours (about 6 months, or more), and demands ample investment of time.
The section Clinical neuropsychology will help the student find an
internship to the best of its abilities, however, it's the students own
responsibility to succeed in finding an internship. The internship needs
to match the internship requirements set by the internship coordinator,
so always contact him/her when considering a specific internship.
About 6 months before the start of the master's program, an informative
meeting will be held for the bachelor's students taking the
neuropsychology minor at the VU. Students are advised to look for an
internship at least from that moment on.

During the internship, the 4 internship meetings need to be attended:
- 4 x 1.45h Intervision
- 4 x 1.45h Interview Skills

More information can be found on the Canvas Course 'Stage
neuropsychologie ZOEKEN'. Students can sign up for this canvas Course in
canvas themselves.

Method of Assessment

The progress of the internship needs to be judged by your external
internship supervisor via two forms, one halfway through the internship,
and one final form at the end of the internship. At the end of the
internship, the student also needs to write an internship report.
Participation of the internship meetings is judged by the meeting's
teachers. Final grading of the internship is the responsibility of the
internship coordinator, in consultation with the external internship
supervisor and the internship meeting's teachers.
