In this one-year full-time programme you study how conflicts lead to serious crimes – from child soldier recruitment to human trafficking and terrorism – and how justice systems respond. You combine insights from law, criminology, psychology, sociology, and political science, learning to analyse the causes, patterns, and consequences of conflict-related crimes. You’ll delve into the psychology of perpetrators, learn about criminological theories on organisational processes, and discuss justice responses at all levels.
You’ll engage with case studies, policy challenges, and real-world examples of conflict-related crimes. Classes are small and diverse, bringing together students from around the world – lawyers, criminologists, sociologists, and others, who learn from each other’s perspectives.
As a graduate, you’ll be ready to work in international organisations, NGOs, governments, or research institutions, tackling global issues connected to war, terrorism, and gross human rights violations. You’ll combine strong analytical and writing skills with the ability to see crime and conflict through a multidisciplinary lens.
