If you want to enrol in the Master's program of Linguistics and do not meet the entry requirements, you might need to sign up for the Pre-Master's program first.

The Admission Committee decides if students are eligible for a Pre-Master's program and what the specific program for each student will look like.

The Committee considers the following factors:

• The relationship between student's prior BA program and Linguistics;
• If students meet the requirements of the MA program by taking courses with a maximum of 60 EC in total.

The Pre-Master's program consists of a maximum of one year of university courses (60 EC), although most Pre-Master's programs consist of approximately 30 EC. The Admission Committee decides on the combination of courses for each student individually. During this Pre-Master's year, students participate in courses of our Bachelor's program in Communication and Information Studies.

After your admission to the program, course registration is handled by the Education Office of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
