Literary Studies

If you want to enroll in the Master's program Literary Studies (English Literature: Writing the 21st Century) and do not meet the entry requirements, you might need to sign up for the Pre-Master program first. This is only possible if your prior curriculum has relevant connections to the topic of the Master’s program.

The Admission Committee decides if students are eligible for a Pre-Master's program and what the specific program for each student will look like.

The Committee considers the following factors:

• The relationship between the student's prior BA program and Literary Studies;
• If students will be able to meet with the requirements of the MA program by taking extra courses (somewhere between 30 and 60 EC).

The Pre-Master's program consists of a maximum of one year of university courses (60 EC), although most Pre-Master's programs consist of approximately 30 EC. The Admission Committee decides the exact combination of courses for each student individually. During this Pre-Master’s year, students participate in courses of our Bachelor's program Literature & Society: English.

After your admission to the program, course registration is handled by the Education Office of the Faculty of Humanities.
