Healthcare systems are under a lot of pressure to improve and innovate.
The demographic changes and technological opportunities lead to
unmanageable increases in costs – and subsequently the call for further
Drastic and disruptive changes seem to be necessary to help health
systems deliver on the promise of delivering care for their populations.
The digital revolution has hugely affected the way we organize and
deliver health care. And it only just started…
“Blockchain” is one of the innovations that has potential to drastically
innovate and improve the health care system. At the same time it is
hyped and maybe overvalued.
We dare you to look into the world of Future Medicine and focus on
Blockchain. Decide for yourselves: Can Blockchain be successfully
implemented to improve and innovate healthcare - and if so, under what
In this 4-week full-time course you will study the innovative
developments in health with a special focus on Blochchain methodology
and applications. You will have time allocated to interactive lectures
and work groups, self-study and group work.
This is a 4-week full time course, starting January 6 and ending with
presentations on Friday, January 31st 2020.
Schedule: There will be a limited number of contact hours - max 9 in the
first two weeks and up to six in the last two weeks. Contact hours will
be booked on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 09:30 and 12:30.
The first two weeks we will give you input on the topic of healthcare
innovations and Blockchain. In the last two weeks you will work in
groups of 2 students on your assignment.

several written documents and a final presenation:
