Doel vak

Being the last of BK course, this course both builds on, and integrates
previous courses. In this course you will individually design and
perform a basic academic research and write your BSc Thesis.

In this course you will develop your abilities to examine and understand
problems from different perspectives; to recognize fundamental
structures and to leave out irrelevant information; to forward
well-founded, substantiated points of view, both in spoken and written
format; and your ability to apply acquired knowledge to other problems
and in other contexts (Academic & Research Skills).

You will develop your abilities to critically reflect on (the quality
of) academic research; • ability to translate academic research into
outcomes relevant to practice; to translate a practical problem into a
sound academic research question; and your ability to design a full
research process with either quantitative or qualitative methods (or
both) (Academic & Research Skills).

You will develop in-depth knowledge and insights within the discipline
of your thesis topic; as well as develop the ability to connect
theories, models, and concepts within that topic (Bridging Theory and

You will develop awareness about and apply, ethics and academic
integrity; and demonstrate fluency in English, both in writing and
speaking (Broadening your Horizon).

Finally you will develop your ability to take responsibility for our own
actions; in terms of your responsibility for your own learning; to make
well-founded decisions to support the choices you make and the ability
to reflect on your personal development (Self-awareness).

Inhoud vak

Being the final course of your BK degree programme this course builds on
preceding courses and challenges you to both integrate and improve the
business knowledge and research skills you have acquired so far. To that
end you will individually perform an academic research project on a
specific business topic of your choice.

You will design and complete several stages of a research project. This
could include both theoretical and empirical work depending on the
nature of your thesis project as specified by the thesis track


group and individual meetings.
