Doel vak
Students are introduced to concepts of remediation of the literary workand be able to analyse the relationship beween the written and visual
texts (for instance, written text, film, game). They will examine how
the remediated text can be used to examine particular cultural contexts
and periods.
Inhoud vak
One and the same story can be told in different media: think of a novelbeing adapted to film, play, television series, or game. What do
all these versions of the same story have in common (medium-independent
narrative aspects) and how do they differ (medium-specific narrative
aspects)? During the course students apply these concepts to a narrative
text of their
own choosing and will independently research the remediation of a
'classic' literary work in a visual medium.
