Inhoud vak

English has become the leading language for international communication.
The ratio between native- and non-native speakers of English is
currently 1:4, and it is estimated that around 80% of all communication
in English takes place amongst non-native speakers with different mother
tongues. This course discusses core concepts in spoken language and
applies these concepts to an analysis of the use of English as a Lingua

related to ELF (e.g. language attitudes) and reflects on practical
implications of the emergence of ELF, for example, in language teaching.
