Inhoud vak

By way of a historiographical overview, and under the umbrella concept
of "intermediality", the course Reading Concepts of Intermediality will
engage with such phenomena as transmediality, crossmediality,
remediation, and other media crossovers. This will allow us to
investigate and analyse various synergetic interrelations between media,
or between media and the arts. The course presents a flexible core of
theoretical concepts that can be used as a foundation for comparative
arts and media research, which students will learn to apply in their
individual research practice.


Lectures and seminars.


Note that RMA students will have to perform on a higher level than
regular MA students.

Vereiste voorkennis

An academic bachelor in the Arts, Cultural or Media Studies.
Theoretically interested students are particularly welcome to apply.


A reader will be provided.


Master's students Comparative Arts and Media Studies; MPhil- students
Critical Studies in Arts and Culture.

Overige informatie

Students who do not have the required academic background will be asked
to make up for deficiences by means of a reading list.
