Doel vak

Students will learn the physical principles of common neuro-imaging
techniques such as MRI, EEG, PET, MEG. What is actually measured, and
how do we do that? Students will learn how these data are acquired,
analyzed, and interpreted. Students will learn the possibilities and
limitations of the techniques, and how to evaluate published
neuro-imaging data in the international literature.

Inhoud vak

The course will treat physical principles, analysis, and practical
applications of the four major neuro-imaging techniques: MRI, EEG, PET,
and MEG. Most emphasis will be given to MRI and EEG. The techniques will
be discussed theoretically and actual data will be analyzed. For both
EEG and MRI,
students will analyze example datasets in smaller, supervised groups.
The
possibilities and limitations of each technique will be discussed, as
well as common pitfalls in the interpretation of such data. Students
will
learn how to evaluate published neuro-imaging data in the literature.
