ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH SKILLS – STUDENTS CAN CONDUCT A BASIC
INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH PROJECT FROM START TO FINISH

Academic Skills (Three As)
After successfully completing this course, the student
- is able to analyze organizational and cultural challenges from
different perspectives (Analysis)
- is able to reflect the main features of complex organizational setups
in abstract strategic games and experiments (Abstraction)
- s able to put forward well-founded, substantiated points of view, for
possible interventions that help overcome problems in business and
society (Argumentation)

BRIDGING THEORY AND PRACTICE
KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrates theoretical and empirical knowledge concerning
the relevant areas in international business administration
After successfully completing this course, the student:
- can explain, contrast, and compare theoretical predictions and
experimental results with case studies of culture in organizations
- can describe theory and related concepts on cross-cultural management
and collaboration
- can describe basic theory on cross-cultural differences in a business
related context

APPLICATION: Can propose a solution to an international real-life
business problem by applying relevant theories and methodologies.
After successfully completing this course, the student:
• is able to provide practical solutions for shaping individuals
interactions with others in an inter-cultural workplace
- is able to apply theoretical knowledge by comparing theoretical
predictions with experimental results and case studies in a specific
business situation

Inhoud vak

During this course you are invited to critically think about culture,
intercultural communication, and collaboration across cultural
boundaries. Raising fundamental topics, you are encouraged to project
yourself into the international and intercultural organization to
understand the complexities that come with working in a diverse
environment. Reflecting on and discussing about business cases will help
you to translate academic, abstract knowledge into practice while
developing your own critical view.
