Econometrics and Operations Research

In Econometrics and Operations Research (EOR) you study how to model and solve problems in economics and business using mathematical and statistical techniques. You learn how to recognize and evaluate the ethical aspects of the modelling process.

During the first year, you primarily focus on developing a strong foundation in mathematics, programming, probability theory and statistics, combined with economics and finance. The two years that follow build heavily on this strong basis.

In the second year, you take targeted courses for each of the three areas within the programme: Econometrics, Operations Research and Mathematical Economics.

In the first semester of the third year, you have freedom of choice which is indicated as minor in the annual schedule. However, there are various options: a faculty or university minor possibly in combination with an internship, an own package of subjects or an exchange programme abroad. Check carefully in advance whether approval by the Examination Board is required. In the second semester, you deepen your knowledge by choosing specialized courses. Finally, you will write a bachelor's thesis on a subject of your interest.

On top of this, excellent and ambitious students are also given the option to follow an additional Honours programme.
