Doel vak

• To be able to efficiently retrieve relevant and recent in-depth
information about a given scientific topic;
• To logically organize, describe and discuss the information in a
• To draw conclusions on the perspectives and relevance of the subject;
• To present and discuss the main findings in a colloquium

Inhoud vak

Completion of an academic master degree does not only imply practical
experience and knowledge from a scientific specialization, but also that
one is able to deal with substantial amounts of scientific information
in an efficient way and distill this into the main points. During the
literature thesis, the student will collect recent in-depth scientific
literature about a given topic in molecular-, cellular toxicology or
"biomolecular simulation & modeling" (or a combination), usually a topic
of direct interest to the research group. The literature information is
described and discussed in a coherent form in a thesis, which is also
presented orally during a colloquium.

The content of the literature thesis will depend on the involved thesis
supervisor and the available topics
