Information Sciences is the multidisciplinary area spanning Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its practical application in society. Are you interested in how information is created and processed in companies and organisations? Are you interested in technology and its practical applications? Do you believe it is important to consider the role of people, organisations and cultures in the design, modelling, and sharing of information? If so, then our one-year master programme in Information Sciences might be the right choice for you!

The first semester is devoted to academic research and it includes methodological courses on Research Methods and Thesis Design, as well as courses in Knowledge and Media and Service Oriented Design, and constrained electives such as Software Architecture, ICT for Development, and Knowledge Engineering and Entrepreneurship. The second semester focuses on an individual research project, next to which students are required to choose between constrained electives, such as The Social Web and Information Visualisation, and free electives, such as ICT for Development and E-Commerce Law.

Graduates from the Master in Information Sciences typically move on to pursue careers as a.o. Data Analysts, IT consultants and Database administrators at leading ICT companies such as IBM, Microsoft, SAP, Oracle and Cisco.
