Doel vak

ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH SKILLS – STUDENTS CAN CONDUCT A BASIC
INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH PROJECT FROM START TO FINISH

ACADEMIC SKILLS
After successfully completing this course, the student
• is able to recognize fundamental structures and to leave out
irrelevant information (Abstraction)
• is able to put forward well-founded, substantiated points of view
based on empirical evidence (Argumentation)

RESEARCH SKILLS
After successfully completing this course, the student
• is able to develop an academically relevant research question
• can find relevant literature for the purpose of developing hypotheses
• is able to develop and argue for hypothesis
• can design a survey and an interview
• can collect and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data
• is able to translate research outcomes into practically relevant
outcomes

BRIDGING THEORY AND PRACTICE APPLICATION:
After successfully completing this course, the student
• can propose a solution to an international real-life business problem
by applying relevant theories and methodologies.
• is able to provide practical solutions to a business problem through
application of a range of research skills

QUANTITATIVE SKILLS
After successfully completing this course, the student
• is able to select the correct method and / or technique for
quantifying, analyzing and solving a specific problem (building on the
learnings of Business Statistics and Business Research Methods I –
quantitative)
• masters specialized quantitative methods and techniques that are
commonly used in the field (academic and business)
• is able to translate, communicate, and disseminate quantitative
results to relevant stakeholders

SOCIAL SKILLS – STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY MANAGE DIFFERENT
PROFESSIONAL ROLES IN A CROSS-CULTURAL ENVIRONMENT
After successfully completing this course, the student
• is able to convincingly present a set of evidence-based
recommendations
• can work well in a team and reflect on his/her own role in the team

SELF-AWARENESS – STUDENTS CAN EVALUATE OWN LEARNING, KNOWLEDGE AND

Inhoud vak

During the Integrative Research Project, students will work on a problem
for an organization. To do so, they need to build on, integrate, and
apply the content knowledge gained from previous courses, such as
Cross-Cultural Marketing, International Strategy, HRM, as well as use
the research techniques learned during Quantitative and Qualitative
Business Research Methods.

Overige informatie

Note that Integrative Research Project is an entry requirement for the
Bachelor Thesis, meaning that the course needs to be completed
successfully in order to be able to start with the Bachelor Thesis
process in year three.
